A similar case generated the popular catchphrase "playing hidden cat" in Jinning county in Yunnan Province, southwestern China, after a similar massive wave of attention earlier this year.
When a 24-year-old prisoner died from a severe brain injury four days after being sent to hospital, police announced the injury resulted from when a prisoner had "bumped into a wall after being kicked by another prisoner while playing 'hidden cat'" at the local detention center.
The relevant authorities organized an online web user supervision team for the follow-up investigations and eventually announced a more just punishment.

This originally appeared at 10:59 am, July 16, on the Chinese portal Baidu in a forum for the game World of Warcraft in which a gamer named "Jia Junpeng" was combined with a phrase in the forum. In six hours it attracted more than 400,000 viewers and 17,000 replies, most of which were posted by young people. This phrase reached its zenith around National Day, October 1, when web users claimed: "Taiwan, your mother is calling you home for your meal."

This catchphrase is popularly rumored to have begun on a Baidu special forum in July where a person posted a photo of a man eating noodles with the text: "What brother is eating is not noodles, but loneliness!""The phrase was copied and adjusted to suit the needs of many online web users employing variants such as "what I am posting is not a post, but loneliness", "what I am using is not a mobile phone, but loneliness", "what brother is doing is not sleeping, but loneliness"and so on.
